Champs d'intérêt

Programme de recherche constitué de trois axes et visant principalement la réalité pédiatrique et de l’obésité :

  • AXE 1: Le chronoexercice comme paramètre innovant pour la prévention de l’obésité pédiatrique.
    • ​OBJECTIF 1 : Identifier le moment optimal de l'exercice aigu pour obtenir un bilan énergétique négatif.
    • OBJECTIF 2 : Documenter si le meilleur timing d'exercice aigu effectué de manière chronique produit un bilan énergétique négatif plus important.

  • AXE 2: Les interactions entre les habitudes de vie comme nouveau facteur du FITT pour la prévention de l’obésité juvénile.
    • OBJECTIF 1: Identifier le meilleur scenario pour changer l’alimentation afin d’améliorer la pratique d’activité physique et la régulation du poids corporel.

    •  

      OBJECTIF 2: Révéler le meilleur scenario pour réduire la sédentarité, augmenter le niveau d’AP et contrôler le poids corporel.
  • AXE 3: Validation de la mise à jour des recommandations FITT+.

    • OBJECTIF 1: Quantifier la contribution des composantes bonifiées du FITT+ associées à des habitudes de vie et un contrôle pondéral.

En parallèle, nous travaillons aussi à étudier la réponse chimiosensorielle (goût/odorat) et visuelle en contexte EXiNU (Interaction exercice-nutrition). Finalement, le volet intuitif dans l'adoption de saines habitudes de vie (activité physique et nutrition) est mis de l'avant dans le projet Écoute ton corps, il te parle!

Biographie

Marie-Eve Mathieu détient un B.Sc. en kinésiologie et a effectué ses études de maitrise et de doctorat en sciences de l'activité physique à l'Université de Montréal. Après un stage postdoctoral à l'Université Laval, elle a débuté sa carrière de professeur au département de kinésiologie de l'Université de Montréal.

Elle est aussi chercheuse au centre de recherche du CHU Sainte-Justine. Ses recherches réalisées au sein du Laboratoire Activité Physique et Santé (LAPS) qu’elle dirige visent à identifier comment l'activité physique et l'adoption d'un mode de vie sain et actif peut aider à assurer une santé pondérale, métabolique et cardiaque optimale et ce, tout particulièrement pour les jeunes.
