Programme de recherche constitué de trois axes et visant principalement la réalité pédiatrique et de l’obésité :
- Axe 1 ‒ Optimiser les interventions par l’interaction exercice-nutrition.
- Axe 2 ‒ Caractériser les spécificités du profil physiologique et d’activité physique.
- Axe 3 ‒ Perfectionner le diagnostic de condition et d’activité physique.
Principaux projets de recherche en cours
- Effet de l’exercice sur l’ingestion calorique et le devenir pondéral
- Modulation de l’exercice en réponse aux changements nutritionnels
- Profil de réponse physiologique à l’effort et de pratique d’activité physique au cours de la croissance et en contexte d’obésité
- Amélioration de la mesure de la pratique d’activité physique (ex. : accéléromètre)
- Activité physique et populations à haut risque (ex. : diabète de type 1)
Biographie
Marie-Eve Mathieu détient un B.Sc. en kinésiologie et a effectué ses études de maitrise et de doctorat en sciences de l'activité physique à l'Université de Montréal. Après un stage postdoctoral à l'Université Laval, elle a débuté sa carrière de professeur au département de kinésiologie de l'Université de Montréal.
Elle est aussi chercheure au centre de recherche du CHU Sainte-Justine. Ses recherches réalisées au sein du Laboratoire Activité Physique et Santé (LAPS) qu’elle dirige visent à identifier comment l'activité physique et l'adoption d'un mode de vie sain et actif peut aider à assurer une santé pondérale, métabolique et cardiaque optimale.
